And it bothers me that all of Ron’s intelligence in the books is given to Hermione in the movie… like, seriously, Hermione reads a few books over the course of a summer and suddenly she knows more about the wizarding world than the youngest brother of six sons from a wizarding family? Does 11 years of experience mean nothing? Hermione is good, sure. In fact, she’s one of my favorite characters but, damn. It’s no wonder people ship Harry and Hermione so hard… Movie Ron is an idiot. He’s a stereotyped class-clown-bumbling-derp-face who contributes nothing but comic relief. Sure book Ron was goofy and sometimes clueless, but he grew up in the wizarding world! In the books, he’s teaching Harry and Hermione stuff all the freaking time! but in the movies? no. In the movies, Hermione is the book smart leading lady, Harry is the hero archetype, and Ron? Ron is a trips-over-his-own-feet third wheel comedy insert.
